The return of “Shane-O-Mac” Shane McMahon, after a seven-year absence from the WWE ring, kicked off the night of surprises. It also kicked off a night of segments that brought back themes and stunts reminiscent of the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression Eras of The Big Fed. Read more…

From the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio WWE rolled out the pyro and big-name talent for its latest pay-per-view event: Fastlane.

The build-up to February’s live event was short and felt rushed, and the card yielded a mixture of satisfying conclusions, intriguing twists, and perplexing segments. The general booking and execution of the event resulted in something which felt more like an episode of WWE television than something fans would pay their local cable providers to watch. Read more…

Full break-down of WWE TLC 2015

WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view comes to the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts this Sunday, December 13th.

The Fed’s final event of the year lands in a time of year that often suffers from rushed booking, absences and the holiday season. This year is no different, as many feuds going into the show feel under/un-developed, scattered and cold.

With television ratings suffering their worst numbers in nearly twenty years, The December event has consistently been scheduled for mid-month, in order to take it easy on performers around Christmas. After all, the much-anticipated Road To WrestleMania is right around the corner at the Royal Rumble.

While the tournament’s first round was punctuated by predictable action and surprise finishes, the superstars really stepped up the level of competition this week. Each match delivered in its own way, elevating everyone involved.

In the end, however, only four men survived.

WWE Championship Tournament 1st Round (Part One)

With WWE World Heavyweight Champion and Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s #1 of 2015’s Top 500 Wrestlers Seth Rollins out of commission, Monday Night Raw kicked off the journey toward a new face of the company.

Shield “reunions” teasing WrestleMania 32 moment?

When Seth Rollins lended support to former friends turned bitter rivals Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns on the October 19th edition of Monday Night Raw, it stopped the show.

Some may argue that Rollins’s motivations for doing so were flimsy, but no one can deny the awesome drawing power of all three ex-members of The Shield together in the ring simultaneously.

FRIENDS AND ENEMIES CLASH! – Thursday Night Smackdown Recap, Sept 17th 2015

The blue brand invades Little Rock, Texas on its way to Night Of Champions this coming Sunday.

WWE-Smackdown-Logo.0

With a main event involving fan favourites Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, and top heels Seth Rollins and Sheamus, as well as an undercard boasting Cesaro, Kevin Owens, Dolph Ziggler and members of the Divas Revolution, you would expect a stellar episode. Unfortunately, audiences were instead treated to a couple of good matches with unsatisfying conclusions, two formulaic tag matches with screwy finishes, one great promo followed by a non-match, and extended sequences revolving around Nikki Bella’s “Bella-bration” which were borderline excruciating. Let’s look closer at this ultimately disappointing night of sports entertainment and try to glean some gems from it.

WWE Payback – May 17th, 2015

From Baltimore, Maryland, the WWE brings retribution, redemption and revenge. From Baltimore, the leader in sports entertainment brings Payback!

WWE_Payback_(2015)_Poster

There was blood. There was sweat. There was deceit amid foes and honour amidst friends. The main event saw four of the best the WWE has to offer working together to create a well-crafted contest worthy of note. Although Match of the Night contention might sway toward the Tag Team Championship’s Two out of Three Falls Match, there were few dull spots to be found on this shining exhibition of talent. In some ways, the card did have the feel of a transitional Pay-Per-View. The Elimination Chamber is looming only two weeks away, and contrary to its title many feuds remain hot and without resolution. Overall, though, the event was enthralling and strongly billed. Let’s begin by reviewing the match results…

WWE Thursday Night Smackdown – May 14th, 2015

The go-home edition of the blue brand beams into living rooms around America and through my computer monitor in Vancouver, as we get set for the final stop before WWE Payback.

WWE-Smackdown-Logo.0

With some of the bigger name talent taking the night off (Randy Orton, John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, The Bellas), the rest of the roster trade partners for a night as they try their best to hype every feud on the upcoming card. A surprisingly uncomplicated night, with an absence of run-ins, interference, shmozzes, or last minute stipulations. The focus was on competitive in-ring action – of which there was plenty, and on the subtle relationships between single superstars.
