Sting inducted into WWE Hall Of Fame!

WWE officially announced on Twitter, then to the television audiences on Monday Night Raw: first inductee to this year’s Hall Of Fame is former WCW/TNA Champion Sting.

The man born as Steve Borden responded via Twitter, saying he was “honored”. COO Triple H released a statement: “His contributions to our industry are unprecedented, and we look forward to celebrating his incredible career with fans all over the world.” Read more…

John Cena side-lined!

Former US Champion and face of the WWE for more than a decade, John Cena, has been shelved with another injury less than two weeks since his return to wrestling.

Cena himself broke the news on January 6th, 2016. He Tweeted that he would be going in for shoulder surgery on Thursday.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship to be decided in Royal Rumble match!

In a shocking development on the first Monday Night Raw of 2016, Chairman of the Board and CEO of WWE Vincent K. McMahon announced that Roman Reigns would defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against 29 other competitors in the Royal Rumble match.

010_RAW_01042016ej_0148-1708152824The spiteful move came after Reigns fought¬†Sheamus in the main event. In an attempt to ensure a title change, McMahon inserted himself as special guest referee. Despite the deck stacked in the Authority’s favour, Reigns was able to get the win.

2015 Slammy Awards run-down

Monday Night Raw, live from Minneapolis, Minnesota served as the venue for the latest edition of WWE’s award show, The Slammys.

The Slammy Awards is a tradition begun in 1986 & 1987. The concept was revived in 1994, then again in 1996 & 1997. But it didn’t become an annual fixture until 2008.

Attitude change benefits Enzo & Cass

The latest episode of NXT, live from Orlando, saw a new demeanor displayed by Full Sail veteran tag team Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady.

The two Jersey boys, along with their Staten Island princess Carmella, bi-passed their trademark microphone introduction. Instead, they wore stone scowls as they marched unceremoniously to the ring. The normally boisterous duo proceeded to attack their opponents with pure power offense, making short work of Corey Hollis and John Skyler.

Assessing Michael Cole as GM

Last week, Michael Cole announced that he would take over responsibilities as General Manager of NXT while William Regal recovers from neck surgery.

The declaration that Cole was “in charge” received a round of resounding boos from the Full Sail University audience. The reception was not helped by Cole’s first official announcement as GM: that after receiving word from “corporate”, the championship match between Eva Marie and Bayley would happen regardless of Regal’s previous wishes.

Tommy Dreamer returns to WWE Raw!

Former ECW Champion and hardcore legend Tommy Dreamer made his first televised appearance on WWE programming since December 17th, 2012.

The “heart and soul of ECW” and the “innovator of violence” was the ace in the hole for fellow ECW alumni The Dudley Boyz as they were outnumbered by the Wyatt Family. Along with Dreamer and a garbage can full of kendo sticks, the Dudleys extracted a measure of revenge on the Wyatts for their recent attacks.

Women’s division center stage on NXT

Women’s wrestling once again reigned supreme¬†at Full Sail University, with three single’s matches featured on Wednesday’s NXT television program.

Fan-favourite veteran Carmella challenged the juggernaut Nia Jax. Emma continued putting over her new conceded, heelish ways in a match against development talent. To close the show, Bayley defended her NXT Women’s Championship against number one contender, Alexa Bliss, but was then met with a new challenge.

Nikki Bella out with neck injury!

Former WWE Divas Champion and Pro Wrestling Illustrated #1-ranked female wrestler of 2015 is currently taking time off to rehabilitate an injury.
