Santana Garrett as “Sister Abigail”?

Wrestling Observer newsletter reports that talk of introducing the Sister Abigail character on television, which has persisted off and on since Bray Wyatt’s main roster debut, is becoming more “serious”.
Whether she will play Abigail or not, Garrett’s presence was confirmed at NXT television tapings. She will appear on NXT in an episode set to air February 3rd in a match against Asuka. It will be the first time back on NXT since a match against Charlotte which aired on TV October 9th, 2013.
The possible acquisition of Santana Garrett would be another major boon for WWE. The 27-year old multi-promotional champion was ranked #4 in Pro Wrestling Illustrated‘s Top 50 Females of 2015, losing out only to Sasha Banks, Paige, and Nikki Bella, and out-ranking current WWE Diva’s Champion Charlotte.
Garrett became CCW (Coastal Championship Wrestling) Ladies’ Champion in her debut match in 2009. Since then, she has wrestled for IWA Mid-South, Pro Wrestling Xtreme, Orlando Pro Wrestling, Southern Championship Wrestling, SHIMMER, Absolute Intense Wrestling, Women Of Wrestling, Queens of Combat, Shine Wrestling, TNA, Global Force Wrestling, and most recently signed with Japanese-based World Wonder Ring Stardom.
Along with being a former NWA World Women’s Champion, Garrett currently holds over a dozen championships from various promotions – an impressive feat.
Leilani Kai, former WWF and NWA Women’s Champion, said that she saw one of Garrett’s early matches and “was impressed with her right away.” It was Kai’s aid and influence which brought Garrett to compete in Japan.
“She’s come so far,” Kai was quoted as saying, “and I felt like [Japan] was the next step for her.”
Garrett recently told Slam! Magazine that wrestling in Japan has been a goal since her career began, along with working for SHIMMER, TNA and WWE.
Although she received a tryout for OVW and NXT in 2013, her career with WWE never got off the ground. She may be on the verge of ticking another career goal off her list in 2016.
Although her official website confirms her NXT taping with Asuka, as well as her Wyatt-style photo-shoot, Garrett has yet to confirm any long-term plans with WWE. Her latest press release has her returning to Japan to wrestle for Stardom in February. From there, a two-week tour in India for Great Khali’s CWE promotion. She plans to return to Chile to compete in an event featuring Rey Mysterio in April, and will tour Europe in May.
Then again, the right offer and a proper contract for a company like WWE is enough to offset any future plans.
